The redesigned 2009 Honda Fit is powered by a new 117-horsepower 1.5-liter that is more powerful than the previous version and achieves better fuel economy, rated at 28/35 mpg city/hwy for the base trim with automatic transmission and at 27/33 city/hwy for the Sport with either manual or automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes air conditioning; power windows, mirrors and door locks; tilt and telescopic steering column; current and average fuel consumption indicators; and 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system. The rear 60/40 split Magic Seat offers a variety of configurations with a one-motion dive-down folding mechanism and a new hidden storage bin under the rear seat that can accommodate small items. The Fit Sport adds 16-inch alloy wheels, an aerodynamic body kit, a roof spoiler, fog lights, chrome headlight bezels, perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel and chrome exhaust tip. Satellite-Linked Navigation System and Vehicle Stability Assist are both available for Fit Sport.
Daimler AG Invests in EV-Maker Tesla
Daimler AG has acquired an equity stake of nearly 10 percent of California electric car maker Tesla Motors Inc., the German automaker said Tuesday.
The two companies have been working together to integrate Tesla's lithium-ion battery packs and charging electronics into the first 1,000 units of Daimler's electric Smart car.
